Sean McLaughlin founded Liberty Asset Recovery in 2001 as a medical case management firm. Early on, he recognized a greater opportunity to drive value for clients by addressing inefficiencies in the medical billing process. With a specialized focus on identifying and challenging excessive billing practices beyond standard fee schedules and bill reviews, Sean has helped recover over $100 million for client partners. Today, he is widely regarded as a leading expert in specialty bill review and continues to set the standard for cost containment strategies in the industry.

Courtney brings deep expertise in forensic auditing and utilization review within the workers’ compensation sector. Previously, he provided specialized reporting for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where he built a foundation in medical claims analysis.
At Liberty Asset Recovery, Courtney has developed advanced skills in trauma billing review, identifying discrepancies, and negotiating successful provider reconsiderations. His knowledge of national billing practices and cost containment solutions makes him a key asset to Liberty’s mission and client success.

Thomas McLaughlin offers more than four decades of experience in finance, strategic planning, and corporate real estate management. Before joining Liberty, he held senior leadership roles in the chemical and real estate sectors, where he consistently led high-performing teams and drove operational efficiency.
Thomas has a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives that improve service delivery, establish performance benchmarks, and yield measurable cost savings. His leadership continues to guide Liberty’s growth and operational excellence.
